WHAT THINGS ARE SIN?
There are 788 verses in the Bible on sin. Plus there are innumerable verses that say,
"Do not do this," or "Do do that" which don't use the word
sin, but that's what is being referring to.
There are even passages where we are told what to do by example, such as
Jesus' baptism.
DEFINITION: The
word sin is best described by (1) the Hebrew word "pesha" which means
"trespass" or go beyond where we're not supposed to be (bad
committed); (2) the Hebrew word "chata" which means to "miss the
mark" or fall short (good omitted).
Sin, therefore, is whatever we do that God does not do, and that will
eventually hurt us.

1 John 4:20 (pg.

stranger and you did NOT ______________________ me in, I needed clothes and you

Romans 12:11-21 (pg. 1101)

Share with God's people who are in need. Practice ____________________________. Bless those who persecute you; ______________________ and do NOT

with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in __________________________ with one another. Do NOT be proud, but we willing to associate
with people of low position. Do NOT be
conceited. Do NOT repay anyone evil for
evil. Be careful to do what is right in
the eyes of everybody. If it is
possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do NOT take revenge, my friends, but leave
room for God's wrath, for it is written:
"It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary, if your enemy is hungry,
feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals
on his head. Do NOT be overcome by evil,
but overcome evil with good.
Ephesians 5:17-18 (pg. 1136)
Do NOT be foolish, but _____________________________________ what the Lord's

Hebrews 10:25-29 (pg. 1168)
Let us NOT give up ______________________________ together, as some are in the
habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see
the Day approaching. If we deliberately
keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice
for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire
that will consume the enemies of God.....who has trampled the Son of God under
foot.
Hebrews 13:2-3 (pg. 1171)
Do NOT forget to __________________________________________________________,
for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those in prison as if you were
their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were
suffering.

1172) Do NOT merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does NOT _____________________________________________
is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself,
goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like....If anyone considers
himself religious and yet does NOT keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives
himself and his religion is worthless.
James 2:14-19 (pg.
1173) What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no
_________________________? Can such
faith save him? Suppose a brother or
sister is without clothes and daily food.
If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well
fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is
not accompanied by action, is dead. But
someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will
show you my faith by what I do. You
believe that there is one God.
Good! Even the demons believe
that - and shudder.
WHAT GOD SAYS, HE
MEANS
DAY FOUR:

him?
_____________________________________________________________

1165) says all these things that happened were included in the Old Testament to
serve as ____________ for us.
DAY FIVE:
Acts 5:1-11 (pg. 1059)
Ananias and Sapphira, Christians married to each other, claimed they sold their
land for a certain amount and were giving 100% of it to church, which was not

CONSCIENCE
Romans 2:14-15 (pg. 1091)
Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law [of Moses], do
___________________________ things required by the law, they are a law for
themselves, even though they do not have the law.
Romans 14:22-23 (pg. 1102)
So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn
himself by what he approves. But the
man who has _________________________ is condemned if he eats, because his
eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
DAY SIX:
1 Corinthians 8:7-12 (pg. 1110)
Some people are still so _________________________________ to idols that when
they eat such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and
since their conscience is __________________________, it is defiled....Be
careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling
block to the weak. For if anyone with a
weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol's temple,
won't he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols? so this weak brother, for whom Christ died,
is destroy ed by your knowledge. When
you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you
sin against Christ.
1 Corinthians 10:25-29 (pg. 1112)
Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising
_________________________________ of conscience....If some unbeliever invites
you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without
raising questions of conscience. But if
anyone says to you, "This has been offered in sacrifice," then do not
eat it, both for the sake of the man who told you and for conscience sake - the
other man's conscience, I mean, not yours.
DIFFERENCE IN SIN
AND TEMPTATION
Genesis 4:7 (pg.
4) If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is ______________________________
at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.
Hebrews 12:4 (pg.
1170) In your _____________________________ against sin, you have not yet
__________________________ to the point of shedding your blood.
James 1:14-15 (pg.
1172) But each one is tempted when, by his own
__________________________________________, he is dragged away and
enticed. Then, after desire has
conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth
to death.
James 4:17 (pg.
1174) Anyone, then, who _________________________ the good he ought to do and
__________________________ ___________________________ do it, sins.
FRUSTRATION AND
RESCUE FROM SIN
Romans 3:23 (pg.
1092) For ______________________________ have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God.
Romans 7:15-8:1 (pg. 1096)
I do not understand what I do. For what
I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do....As it is, it is no longer I
myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the __________________________ to
do what is good, but I ______________________________________________________. For what I do is not the good I want to do;
no, the evil I _________________________________________ to do - this I keep on
doing. Now if I do what I do not want
to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there
with me. For in my inner being I
delight in God's law, but I see another law at work in the members of my
_____________________________, waging ___________________ against the law of my
____________ and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my
members. What a wretched man I am! Who will ________________ me from this body
of death? Thanks be to God - through
Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I
myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to
the law of sin. Therefore, there is now
no ______________ for those who are in _______________________________________.
Romans 6:3 (pg.
1094) How do we get in Christ?

into the fire and burned.

Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and
children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and
to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of
